Malta’s male and female Under 18 national teams ended their commitments in the respective FIBA Under 18 European Championships Division C with a commendable bronze medal.

In Cyprus, the boys’ side defeated Moldova 68-61 in the bronze medal game.

More good news came from Cyprus as Kurt Cassar was not only selected amongst the tournament’s All Star 5 but also as the Most Valuable Player of the same championships. Click here to view the official news article by FIBA.

These championships were won by pre-tournament favourites Norway who beat hosts 84-53 Cyprus in the final.

The girls’ team in Malta were not in action on the last day but they still set their feet on the court to receive the bronze medal. The presentation was made by the new Parliamentary Secretary for Sport Dr Clifton Grima accompanied by the MBA President Paul Sultana.
