On Saturday the CRIC HQ MCA Cricket Summer league continued with two games. The first was between Marsa C.C and Krishna C.C. The later batting first and totalling 118 runs from their allotted overs. Tony Azzopardi top scoring with twenty six runs , Sam Aquilina twenty five runs and Simon Lavendar twenty two runs, rounding up their top scorers. The Marsa team bowled reasonable well, Bikram Arora took two wickets while, Ravi Sharma, Tim Wheeler and Chris Naudi took a wicket each.
The Krishna team were bowling very fine as well dismissing six batsmen for thirty seven runs, that is until Bikram Arora (forty runs from twenty six balls including three sixes and two fours) and Ravi Sharma (twenty five runs from fourteen balls, including three fours) met at the crease and took the game away. The Marsa team made the required runs in the eighteenth over. For Krishna Sarfraz Ali took three wickets, Kevin Krishna two while Suhrid Roy, Nowell Khosla and Haroon Majeed took a wicket each. Marsa earned thirteen points for the win while Krishna earned one.
In the second game the Krishna team came up against the Marauders C.C. The Marauders batted first and made 118 runs from their allotted overs. Paul Bradley made thirty three runs, Sean Byrne twenty five runs and Phill Gibbs eighteen. For Krishna , Kevin Krishna took two wikets, while Ali Hamza (from the juniors) playing in his first game took a wicket. Sid Anand and Nowell Khosla also took a wicket each.
In Reply Tony Azzopardi was consistent making twenty five runs, While Haroon Majeed who made eleven in the first game made forty two runs, Sam Aquilina made seventeen runs and the runs were made in the sixteenth over. For the Marauders Sean Byrne and Paul Bradley were the only wicket takers. Krishna earned thirteen points for the win while Marauders nil.
Next Saturday sees the mixed game between the Women and Juniors from 9:00 am till 10:30am.
Next Weekend also sees the return of Leyland C.C who will be on their seventh tour in a three game series.
